SITKA tender location

:confused:Last year I was stunned when we tendered in; it was a bus ride from town. We'd always tendered right to the area across from the shopping center (where the Russian Store is) before and it had been so handy.

Can someone please tell me where Holland America tenders in this year?

It seems to vary by sailing - the HAL ship was downtown when we were there in May. Even the distant tender dock is only a few blocks, though (there are only 2 tender docks, one downtown and one at the bridge).

The 2 times I've been to Sitka (Ryndam last July and Oosterdam a few weeks ago), we tendered at the dock right there in town.

On Oosterdam last month we tendered to the dock under the bridge.

 

I think it may depend on the tide and water conditions, among other things. Not sure you can count on anything.
