Julzizzle Posted July 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2010 Just wondering if you could do this?
April-in-NC Posted July 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2010 Yes, you can use OBC for just about anything on the ship. I think there may be some exceptions for the casino, but otherwise if you put it on your sea pass you can use OBC to pay for it.
wsue22 Posted July 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2010 You'll have to wait until you're onboard to book the excursions, and in that case run the risk of having an excursion sell-out. You will be able to withdraw the OBC at the casino cashier for a 3% surcharge. I.e. $100 cash will cost $103.
EmTeeNesters Posted July 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2010 For OBC from a TA, is that indicated anywhere on the specific cruise reservation page of the Royal Caribbean website? Thank you.
cb at sea Posted July 8, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2010 You can't spend your ON-BOARD credit until you're ON the ship...but the credit is applied toward your balance....so essentially, anything you charge to your account can be paid with the OBC. If you are withdrawing money against an OBC from a price reduction, you can go directly to Guest Relations and eliminate the 3% service charge. kukusoo Posted July 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2010 can you use it for tips/gratuity?
Ella2 Posted July 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 10, 2010 can you use it for tips/gratuity? Yes, absolutely, just be sure to fill out the form to have your gratuities added to your onboard account once onboard. If you PRE-PAY gratuities before you get onboard, then no. But ANYTHING you purchase onboard, including gratuities added to your account, will be charged against your OBC.
rxmurphy Posted July 10, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2010 If you have any unused OBC left over at the end of a cruise (heaven forbid!) is it refunded in cash to you, credited to a future cruise, or is it gone forever?
dmdicato Posted July 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2010 Leftover OBC is credited back to whichever credit card you used for your ship account.

If you have an RCI Visa that is the credit card on file, any OBC refunded back will result in the loss of double points.
