Dinner the first night - Explorer of the Seas

Recommended Posts

We usually prefer the earlier seating, but have been assigned the 8:00 pm seating. This will only be a problem for us on the first night, as we usually don't eat in the dining room; we prefer the Windjammer.

We were wondering if the Windjammer is open the first night. If not, what are our other options?

Thanks in advance.

I'm on the Explorer in September for a 5 day. Isn't the first night formal night? I'm not certain.

The first night of any cruise is never formal night as not everyone may have gotten their suitcases in a timely manner. It is usually the second night but check your Cruise Compass to be sure. :)

OP, yes, as stated the WJ is open the first night. DH and I love to go for a casual dinner there after sailaway. We take a window seat and just enjoy watching the ocean as we have our coffee and dessert. For us it's the perfect end to our first day of vacation.

I don't know if this will make a difference to you or not, but if you are on the Canada/New England sailing it might be changed 1/2 hour ealier making late seating at 7:30PM. On our sailing it is.
