Galveston Cruiser Posted July 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2010 There are numerous hotels from which you can choose. Go to Galveston.com for information. The Galvez (beautiful) is on Seawall as well as San Luis, Hilton, Holiday Inn Sunspree and Holiday Inn. Downtown is the Tremont and Harbor House (over looks the port). There are many lesser expensive hotels along Seawall.
Texas Tillie Posted July 31, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2010 any recommendations for a hotel in Galveston, tx sailing out in March. Be aware that March is spring break time and the hotels might be more expensive than usual and some will require a 2 night stay.
TEXAS LADY Posted August 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2010 I stayed at the Best Western on the Seawall & it was nice. This was in June with my granddaughter & felt safe there. Convenient to a Kroger & restaurants. The Quality Inn was next door & it looked nice too. I stayed at the Commodore on the Beach earlier, and it's overpriced. robtx100 Posted August 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2010 We like the Galvez. You can park there for free for the week while you cruise and they have shuttle service down to a science. Mardi Gras is March 8, I think. Hotels will be at a premium on the island.
