Solarium Access

If you want to use the Solarium everyday can you pay prior to embarking or do you have to take your chances when you get on board?

You don't have to pay to use the solarium, you just go in and find a chair.

Not so on Royal Caribbean. The Solarium is great: soft, cushy chairs. It's fairly easy to find one chair by itself, and they're about half in the sun, half in the shade. There's a bar, and they put out fruit in the mornings.

It does get busy in the early afternoon. We found if we went early or later, we had no trouble finding seats. Otherwise, if the weather is so-so, it's never a problem.

This has been my #1 cruise complaint in the past, but on our last-week cruise it was better. No, the problem wasn't gone, but the chair hogs were fewer in number.

 

I'm not sure what made the difference, but I was happy about it!

As long as you're 16 or over, just go on in! It's the Adult pool area...no charge.

The Solarium is not the same as the Sanctuary. It's more like the regular adult pool on the aft of the ship.

We've really enjoyed the Solarium pool area on Grandeur and Enchantment, as well as Brilliance and Jewel.

Please remember, the Radiance class and Vision class Solariums are indoor areas, with the capability to open up the roof and sides in warmer weather. Voyager class and above are all outdoor areas.

In addition to the Solarium bar, there is also a lunch area with burgers, dogs, fries.
