We had a great time on the Sea Princess a few weeks ago to Alaska. I'd love to sail south too!
Denny01 Posted August 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Funny on how you read thread titles...I was all ready to come over and tell the OP all about the sea, the ocean. Turns out the OP is asking about a specific ship! Boy, am I glad someone else chimed in before. I would have rambled on about how beautiful and changing the ocean can be....funny. Denny I thought the same thing too at first glance...I was all set to chime in about how beautiful the sea is. That would have only been a little embarrassing! :o

Denny I was about to reply that it is wet. :D Sea princess is a lovely ship. I have been on her 3 times. The balconies are small and private as they are cut out from the hull but if there are only two in the cabin it is fine.

snrlnd Posted August 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2010 We sailed on the Sea Princess this Spring and enjoyed her very much. Smaller than the Grand class ship but bigger than the Pacific, Royal & Ocean. Balconies as stated are cut out of the hull and much smaller than Grand class. The balcony rooms seemed smaller as well but not significantly smaller. Still plenty of store space, etc. The casino is quite small as well. Many aspects of the ship are very similar to larger vessels in the fleet, i.e Wheelhouse bar, MUTS, etc. There is a pizzaria but no pizza at the pool, just burger and hot dogs. The ship went through dry dock last Sept. and was in very nice condition. I hope you enjoy her as much as we did!:)
Druke I Posted August 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Nice size ship with "easy" deck plan. Balconies on the small side, but the mini-suites on this class ship are great. I prefer the Sun class to the larger Grand and modified Grand classes of ships.

dawcruiser Posted August 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 13, 2010 We were on the Sea Princess back in May 2009. We loved the ship. But on our trip the ship was having some mechanical problems. We had lost one engine. We missed two or three ports but we were given a $1,000 on board credit per cabin. (My wife came home with a really nice ring) We could of taken it as cash and some folks did. We also received a 25% credit of our fare for another princess crusie. We had an inside cabin and got $249.50 per person credit) I really enjoyed the drama and adventure. We didn't know from day to day where we would be or what we would do the next day. What a thrill. But I am crazy anyway. All in all the ship was taken out of service after our crusie and was reapired. I would sail her again in a heart beat. The Captain was English and a very nice person he was very accessible even with the problems. Don
caber Posted August 13, 2010 #11 Share Posted August 13, 2010 No International Cafe but a good pizza restaurant inside, good alternative for lunch or dinner, no charge. There is a steakhouse too with a charge. Photos of balcony cabin. Megsdad, Nasty or nice?
caber Posted August 13, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2010 There are also some outside cabins with a great window. They are much larger windows which go right down. I think they are on D deck and looking at the photo of the ship on the website I think it is a "D" grade cabin. I may be wrong. Someone here may know or a call to Princess could confirm. I attach photo.

southpawsdakota Posted August 15, 2010 #19 Share Posted August 15, 2010 Thank you so much for the pictures. We were wondering since the balcony is a "cut in" how high wall came up. Glad to see we can put our feet up and look out.

I was going to start by telling the OP it's a large body of water that varies in color and movement that ships sail on to get from one point to another. :D
