Smoking on Voyager

Recommended Posts

My husband Steven and I are smokers and want to know where we can't smoke on the Voyager of the Seas. We are going in June. We would like to smoke with our meals in the dining room and by the pool, if possible. Also, do they smell cigarettes:( on the ship?

you cannot smoke in the dining rooms. There is a designated smoking area at the pool and outside of the Windjammer. Certain bars have a smoking section. And of course the casino.

I am guessing that was a typo and you meant can you buy smokes on the ship. If so, yes you can buy them at duty free by the carton - much cheaper than buying a pack here and there.

All of Royal Caribbean's ship are non-smoking in the dining rooms and allow smoking on only one side of the pool. There should be something in your Cruise Compass the first day that outlines where smoking is and is not allowed. Cigarettes are sold on most if not all of the ships, but the selection is very limited.

Smoking at the pool (s) is only allowed at the adult pool and only on one side and not the whole area. You will see lots of big ashtrays around as to where smoking is permitted.

It is also permitted outside on the decks - again look for ashtrays as I am not sure if it is both sides of the ship or just one side.

As for smoking in your cabin - not sure on that one as I only smoke on the balcony and the cabin attendant was more than happy to bring me a ashtray.

Smoking is not permitted in any of the theatres or ice rink area.

Enjoy your cruise and make sure you go the ice show, the quest game and the not so newleywed game. You will laugh all the way through.

Enjoy your cruise.

My husband and I are also smokers. The cabins are normally non-smoking; however, we smoked in the bathroom. Our cabin attendant said that it would be ok. My husband and I made a point not to smoke the cabin out. While we smoke, we realize that others will be using the room who may not. We try to be considerate. Wherever you see an ashtray you can smoke. The cigarettes on the ship are way cheaper.

Happy to see that they provide you with an ashtray on the balcony. Too many people are "litter butts" and simply toss the cigarette butt overboard.

Real sad article in our local paper last weekend about all the sea turtles being found with cigarette butts in their digestive tracts. The toxins were killing them. They are finding them in a lot of other sea life now too.

Not too thrilled about having a nice snapper fillet served in the dining room, "ala cigarette butt sauce"...ewwww...!!

Cheers!

This is not true. While I am not a smoker all cabins are smoking. If you don't have an ashtray your room steward will get you one...

My husband and I are also smokers going on the Voyager this summer (July) I called RCL and you CAN smoke in your cabin, though an ashtray might not be available until asked for. Left side( I believe she said) is smoking as well as the designated bars and casino's. They told me there are large ashtrays around the decks, so you will pretty much know where to smoke.

I was on the mariner recently. You can smoke on the left side of the ship(facing forward). There are ashtrays all along, but they don't seem like they get emptied very often. The first day we boarded and they were already full. You can smoke in parts of the lounges and bars. You cannot smoke in any eating areas. You can smoke in your cabin, just ask for an ashtray. It's best if you have a balcony to smoke outside. I had no problem with this. Unfortunately, you have to watch that the smoke doesn't bother your neighbors.

The only places that I smelled smoke were the areas where smoking is allowed. I DID NOT smell it in the dining room at all. Can someone please tell me how the smoke gets in there? There is nowhere nearby, except outside, that has smoking.

Cigarettes on board are much cheaper. I think they were about $17 a carton for Winstons and Marlboros. But, they tell you that you can only bring back one carton. If you buy more, just make sure you've got them in your suitcase when you get off.

Have fun!

My BF and I are both smokers, and have always smoked in our cabin. We definitely abide by the smoking rules of the ship as not to offend anyone. We bring plenty of packs with us, have never had to buy any while cruising. I also bring Fabreez or something to that effect and spray the room when we leave, even I can find the odor offensive sometimes.
