Sunday football

Does anyone know if any of the areas on the ship will show Sunday Football games when the ship is in port. We will be in port in Nassau on a Sunday and wasn't sure if the ship still will have NFL because the bars I think are closed when in port. Any help would be appreciated.

The bars are open in port... it's the casino that's closed...

If the game is on any of these you'll be able to watch it:

Turner Cruise Ship package and ESPN. This package consists of CNN, CNN Espanol, TNT, Cartoon Network, Headline News, Boomerang, and TCM.

Denver network feeds, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox available if in range.

:)

Just remember to check the Denver TV listings before you leave.

Whatever is showing on the Denver CBS and Fox channels will be the 3 games you get onboard.

The NBC Sunday Night and ESPN Monday Night games are good to go.

(although all the on screen graphics on ESPN will be in ESPANOL.....)

We will be on the Spirit doing a Hawaii cruise next month. Yeah! We HAVE to see the Alabama/Florida game. ROLL TIDE! It will be on CBS during prime time (night game). We will be on Maui that day. Here are my questions...

1. Does Carnival use Denver feeds even when they are so far away (several time zones)?

2. Will the game or for that matter any prime time shows be aired with a delay and shown at night on the ship or will they air live and come on during the afternoon?

Thanks in advance,

Dawn

The ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX stations that Carnival carries are the Denver stations. So you'll be able to see the Broncos game, and whatever other games the Denver stations televise. Carnival ships have a bar near the casino area that has several screens that will be showing the games.

But just remember that if he ship is in an area where it loses the satellite TV signal, you won't be able to see the games.

Go Titans!

As a Univ of Alabama graduate that lives in Florida, I am highly interested in ALA /FLA game as well. After missing an Alabama game once before due to a cruise, I am now very careful in my cruise planning.

That being said, per contract, CBS has the first pick of SEC games each weekend. Taking a look at the SEC schedule, more than likely ALA/FLA will be their pick for the 3:30 ET/2:30 CT/1:30 MT/12:30 PT time slot, that will be on all CBS stations, including the Denver affiliate, which will be the one you see on the ship.

The only reason why this game would not be in that time slot is if CBS decides to pick the LSU / Tenn game, and/or have a college football double header. If that is the case, ALA / FLA would be pushed back to that evening. Looking at the rest of the SEC schedule that weekend, I firmly believe that these two games will be the #1 and 2 choices of the networks.

If for some reason CBS does decide to show LSU / Tenn instead of ALA / FLA, then ESPN (again, by contract) has 2nd choice, meaning ALA / FLA would be a night game. You will not be guaranteed of this actually being shown on the ship, as the ESPN on the ship is the international feed, and not the US feed. Many times, you will see soccer instead of college football on the international feed.

Going back to the earlier question regarding NFL games, in Nassau, there should be a couple of places where you can catch all NFL games via Sunday ticket. The easiest would be to visit the Atlantis or Wyndham hotel/casinos. Some of the bars around the port area may have it as well, but I wouldnt count on that. The ship is only going to have what is shown on the Denver stations. (i.e. CBS will show whoever the Broncos are playing, while Fox will show whatever game is considered to be their best game of the week.)

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait until the schedule comes out. I have to think that ALA/FLA would be the first choice. (Sorry LSU/TENN fans.) We usually don't stress over missed games while on a cruise, but this is a BIG game. We head out to sea that evening so finding a bar in town for a night game will not be an option. Thanks for the info.

I speak a little spanish and everyone in the bar actually had fun with trying to translate penalty calls.

Wasn't meant as a negative....

So  right back at you...;)
