pathdock Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Will be travelling on Insignia and will be in Barcelona on Aug 30th. I am looking for a couple to share a personalized tour with me and my wife.
Paulchili Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2010 pathdock, Welcome to CC. You will have better luck (and more responses) if you post this on the roll call for your cruise. Enjoy Barcelona - it's special!
orchestrapal Posted August 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Most folks forgo the private city tours in Barcelona and opt for the Hop On Hop Off bus instead. With some preparation on your part this is an inexpensive practical way to see the city. Barcelona is also one of Europe"s very fun walkable cities.:)
wripro Posted August 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I agree. Between the HOHO buses and taxis one can certainly do Barcelona on one's own. Walking is the best part.
hondorner Posted August 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Another vote for the HoHo bus. There are two competing organizations, one larger with three circular routes and more buses, the other a bit smaller with one route, but hitting all the hot spots. It's possible to pre-book a voucher on line. We were not aware there were two companies and booked the smaller one, but we were not disappointed. You can do a Google search on "Barcelona hoho". The larger organization is BusTuristic with a website here. If it comes up in Catalonian or Spanish, there is a tiny drop-down box in the upper left hand corner where you can select English. The site has routes, fares, etc., and an opportunity to save 10% by booking online.
Tutuma Posted August 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2010 I vote for the Hop On/Hop off bus too! We spent two full days using the bus, before boarding our cruise ship in Barcelona, and it was great!
