Do your homework in advance about what you would like to see in each port. In obtaining good guides for independent travel in the future remember, "the early bird gets the worm." We are also on this cruise and there is an active roll call. One couple had to cancel the cruise and so there are openings on several of the non-ship excursions that we have planned. You also need to email the person collecting names/cabin numbers for the Meet and Greet at the beginning of the cruise so please join the roll call without delay. See you soon! I can only agree with everyone above, there have been four or five openings on tours due to the late cancellation by one couple. If you register with CC you can then access the Roll Call boards. There is one for Istanbul to Athens for 8/29/10 for the Black Sea. If you look towards the end of the thread you will find posts about these tours.
