Diving in Grand Cay and Coz

Hello all, I'm sailing on the Grandeur Oct 18th and am wanting to do some diving in both ports (Grand Cayman and Cozumel). I've been to both ports before but haven't dived either one yet. So this cruise I'm concentrating on that. Has anyone had any experiences with the local dive operators in either place? Don't know whether to book my dives through RCCI or go with locals. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Wylie.

I spent a week for my honeymoon in Grand Cayman and dove 3 or 4 days. I dove in Cozumel a few years ago while on an RCI cruise. If you are only going to dive one place, I highly recommend Grand Cayman. The diving is much better there IMHO. As for local dive operations, I don't remember who I used in Grand Cayman. I am sure that they are all good or they would not be in business for long.

 

When in Cozumel I booked the excursion through a local agency that came highly recommended from these boards. Again, I can't remember the name of the guide. I recommend going to the Ports of Call boards and ask there. You will find lots of information.

A guidebook of the islands/ beaches lists ALL of the dive shops/providers, where they are, etc....whether it's offshore or from the beach, whether equip. is provided...everything you need to know, along with phone numbers to contact them!

Go with Eagle Ray Divers in Cozumel. Check out there website. I have dove with them many times. Always fun. Cozumel is a drift dive so it is very easy.
