Stay, Park, Cruise MIA Weat?

Is this area OK in Miami to leave a car for a week? Not sure if parking area is fenced in or not, but appears to have a natural fence of a canal & highway on all sides from satellite photos.

 

I booked a package through Hilton Garden Inn (there is also a Homewood Suites next door - also a Hilton property) for $134. for 1 night, breakfast, parking for the week, and transfers to the port. Both properties are new.

I was told they have a shuttle to the port at 10:45am, 11:45am, & 12:45pm, . . . and that to get back to the hotel after the cruise, I could either take a cab, or make arrangements with the shuttle drive on the way to the port for return transportation at $12pp.

 

Anyone know approx how much a cab would be? The person at the hotel said the shuttle would likely the lower cost option.

 

Looks good to me, but would like to know what those that are familiar with the area think.

Not familiar with the area or either property.:o Cab fare to/from POM from any hotel near MIA should cost under $30 including tip. Good luck!:)

I would not feel comfortable leaving my car there for a week.
