debates2 Posted September 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2010 My DS and I will be sailing our first B2B on the Majesty of the Seas next May. We've sailed previously on Carnival and RCCL, but are new to this experience. Any advice from those whom have made this trek before?

debates2 Posted September 9, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted September 9, 2010 1st mate, This should move us from Gold to Platinum. I assume when we check in for the second leg at Guest Relations that our SeaPass card will reflect the upgraded Crown & Anchor status? I assume when we check in for the second leg at Guest Relations that our SeaPass card will reflect the upgraded Crown & Anchor status? Viscount I have been advised to contact the Loyalty Ambassador on the first leg of the cruise. They will take your information and make all the arrangements for the second leg. I was told, it takes time for your cruise completion to to be accounted for, so by contacting the LA on board you recieve credit and are advance to the next level. They both said; "It is very common practice and part of LA's responibillity. I recieved this info from the LA on Freedom just last month and again from a Rep. at Crown & Anchor. It all makes sense, so that is my plan unless someone tells me differently. Hope this helps??? Happy Cruise.
debates2 Posted September 9, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted September 9, 2010 1st mate, It does help. Thank you very much. I had not been told that, but then again I didn't contact Crown & Anchor - as you did. I'll contact the Loyalty Ambassador. Is their a concierge assigned to suites on the Majesty? I noticed they did not have a Concierge Lounge. Viscount

Viscount I am unsure about a Concierge, I would think there probably is one, just a guess. We have reserved a JS, this will be a first also. We usually opt for a balcony (once we had one, we could not go back). The JS will help us with our credits, also. Have you done any research into the amenities and services on board Majesty??? Might try Royals web site.
TexCruise371 Posted September 9, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 9, 2010 We just returned from B2B on majesty. First off, she's a wonderful ship with a great crew. All the advice given so far is great. Be sure and contact the Loyalty Ambassador and let them know what is going on. There is no concierge on Majesty and no lounge. However, Sarah, in guest relations does as fantastic job helping you out if you have any issues. As far as the lounge goes, they block off part of the Viking Crown for diamond/ diamond plus members from 5- 8:30 p.m.. I'm not sure if suite guest have access or not. As far as the B2B, you will receive your Sea Pass cards the evening before the first leg is over. We met at the Library at 9:50 and they escorted us off to say hello to immigration and then right back on the ship. You then have the ship to yourself until the next group starts loading up. Most of all....have fun!:D
highcruiser Posted September 9, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I didn't know you could do back to back cruises like that. Do you get a good discount for doing that.
1st mate Posted September 9, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Thanks texascruise371 for the info. We have not sailed on this ship, but have made the ports on previous cruises. We are looking forward to the ship and the B2B. highcruiser; we were able to use an onboard booking discount, platninum discount and redeemed some RCCL credit card points. It was a discount, but I'm not sure it was a GOOD discount. We just like to cruise and want to reach diamond C&A. It is by far the most relaxing vacation I can think of. debates2 Posted September 10, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I didn't know you could do back to back cruises like that. Do you get a good discount for doing that. I think it's a better deal. One half transfer each way. One RT flight to Miami. Certainly, two soda packages for my son and pay gratuities twice. I have four sons and we all usually travel together, so we request the RS. I believe the suites get you double credits for each cruise, or at least the RS has yielded that result for me. Hope that helps. Viscount

We're looking looking forward to this trip and going back to Senor Frogs. I'll certainly look for Sarah. It sounds like the process is pretty seemless. No you don't get any discounts from Royal. What you do get is one set of flights, and cruise credits for Royal's loyalty program for each leg of the B2B. monkeyinhat Posted September 11, 2010 #15 Share Posted September 11, 2010 TexCruise-We are doing B2B in November (yippee) I have read debates on here as to whether or not they have a lunch in the dining room for back to backers. What was your experience? So you have the ship for about an hour in peace? a chair by the acutal pool? no way, I have heard of those but never actually seen.:D And after 7 cruises on Royal. I hang my head in shame as to where and who the loyal ambassador is that I need to let know we are doing back to back. Debates-I don't know if you are switching cabins. But I have read if you are doing different cabins you leave your hanging clothes and pack everything else and the stateroom attendents somehow move your stuff. I am skeptical on this going smoothly. RayJacki Posted October 12, 2010 #18 Share Posted October 12, 2010 What access to food do you have for lunch? You have me curious! :) Have a good breakfast (or stash something to tide you over) because you will not have access to any food between cruises on the "changeover day". The Winjammer will open for lunch at 11:30 (or is it 12:00?). I've heard that if there are enough B2B'ers, they may do a lunch in the dining room, but we've never experienced this on any of the 7 B2B's we've done in the past. DCwom Posted October 12, 2010 #19 Share Posted October 12, 2010 We're booked for a B2B on Majesty in January, this will be our first B2B, unlike others looking for the ship to themselves we were planning on seeing Miami on the "in between" for a few hours. jjb415 Posted October 12, 2010 #20 Share Posted October 12, 2010 Try the Compass Deli on boarding days. Many people do not know that it is open & it is usually empty on embarkation days.

flcruzer03 Posted October 12, 2010 #22 Share Posted October 12, 2010 I did a b2b on Majesty earlier this year...it was WONDERFUL! We met at guest relations about 10:00 am got our new seapass cards & had the ship to ourselves until about 11:30...I kept the same cabin for both legs & had access to it the whole time...was able to sit on my balcony & watch the new arrivals...there wasn't a luncheon, but we did get ton's of goodies delivered to our cabin from the hotel manager & LA...fruit, champagne, cheese platter...we joked we didn't need to leave our cabin to eat the whole trip! I did the 3 day in 2007 and am now completing the back half next month. Not quite a b2b. I just completed 4 b2bs on Majesty in September. Was in oceanview room on Deck 2 and discovered we loved deck 2 because of convenience. Have sailed Voyager several times. Friends stayed in inside room (extremely tiny!). Try not to have to change rooms. We received fruit baskets, strawberries, pastries, candy, etc., something almost every day -- we were only Platium members. Sarah was wonderful and we had no problem gettin new card for each cruise. Cruise was a lot more informal than accustomed to having and Majesty did not come up to standards of Voyager, but food was good, shows were good. We did miss CoCo Cay on two of the cruises because of weather. Spent extra time in Nassau and got tired of that, but otherwise b2bs were OK and we had a good time and did it to get the extra cruise credits.
