sunraiser Posted September 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Dear Cruisers, Is it possible to visit 2 islands in one day on your own? -Procida and Capri or Ischia and Capri? Which one worth the most to visit? Thanks
screwcork Posted September 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2010 It's probably technically possible, but I would not do it! Concentrate on one island and enjoy that one. We have been to both Ischia and Capri and love them both! Screwcork
Rare Hlitner Posted September 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) It might be possible to both Procida and Ischia in a day since you pass right by Poricda on the way to Ischia. However, we have never looked into whether there is direct service between those two islands (you would need this to pull it off). As to Capri, it is on a totally different route and cannot be reasonably combined with the other two islands. We also do not normally recommend Procida or Ischia to cruise passengers unless they have made many trips to Naples and are looking for something totally new and different. iancal Posted September 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We spent the entire day on Procida. We took the local bus around the island and stopped at a few places. It was wonderful....and it was not crowded at all.

We do not want folks to know about this island :) So far as we can tell, it is not included in any tours (nor is Ischia) and we hope they keep it that way :) Hank
iancal Posted September 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2010 I took my son to Europe when he was 18. That day in Procida is one that he always remembers. He wanted to do this instead of Capri.
sunraiser Posted September 15, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Thanks all for the suggestions. I really want to go to Procida and explore this little pristine town.

erinshehane Posted January 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I am looking at this thread as I am researching excursions for our port stop in Naples in July 2018. Procida looks (and sounds like) and wonderful low key alternative to Capri - is it still recommended? Thank you for your time!

Procida looks (and sounds like) and wonderful low key alternative to Capri - is it still recommended? Thank you for your time! You can certainly read a few online sites to learn about this small island. It has never been a major tourist destination....and I suspect that many of those who live on the island are happy to keep it that way. There are a limited number of high speed ferries that go to the island from the ferry terminal (Molo Beverello) near the cruise port and you would want to try and find current schedules online. Otherwise, just walk over to the Ferry Terminal ASAP and check the schedules. If you get lucky...go for it! Otherwise, you can cosider taking one of the more frequent hydrofoil/jetboats to either Capri or Ischia (another island not visited by many cruisers). It might be possible to combine both Procida and Ischia on a single port day....if you can find ferry schedules that would fit your circumstances. When you take a ferry to Ischia...you actually pass by Procida. Capri would not be a reasonable destination to combine with either Procida or Ischia.
