Excursions-Canadian Ports

We are not crazy about doing ship excursions because they are usually more expensive than doing your own. As for all the ports in Canada- how easy is it to pick up tours and get around on your own from the ports. We like to pick up our own tours when getting to the ports. Any input would be appreciated. Going to Quebec City, Prince Edward, Halifax, Nova Scotia., etc.

I can tell you that in Halifax you can get off the ship, walk up the hill and get to anywhere you want, about a 15 minute lesiurely walk. I think they have a hop on, hop off bus once you are in the city (up the hill) Make a point of going to the Citadel - it's pretty cool!:D

Why are you posting this on multiple boards, by the way? Have you not booked yet? Anyway, the Canada board will probably answer your questions. There are many threads on excursions there. :)

Halifax - great for walking... walk the 1 1/2 mile pier. You will find inexpensive harbor tours. If you like beer, by all means do the Alexander keith tour for about 1 bucks. It's a lot of fun.

 

St. John - Stop by the general store or tourist information and get a self-guided walking tour brouchre. It lists three really nice tours.
