Hi all,

 

I've been checking airfares for an Alaska trip next year and was playing with some dates. I stumbled across a fare of $269 RT from LA to Vancouver on Westjet. It's coach but it's non-stop. Found it at the ITA website. Hope this can help somebody.:)

It would help me but the best Westjet fare I can find on ITA for LAX-YVR return is $418. Did your price include all taxes & fees?

For the US travellers that aren't used to it. WS also allow two free bags. Certainly on a discount fare, flying AC or WS is a big price advantage for that reason alone (make sure it's AC and not an AC codeshare on UA)

 

Also, G4/Allegiant fly into the BLI/bellingham WA airport, about 40 miles south of Vancouver from both LAX and LGB/Long Beach, CA. Typically the fare is $69++(pay for everything on G4)

I'm not sure about the taxes and fees part (which is huge for some airlines). I just got very excited about finally seeing a cheap fare. My thought is that the fare was rather short-lived as it wasn't there when I checked 5 mins prior last night. I guess you have to live on the computer just to get a decent fare.:(
