I asked my husband to handle booking our flight for our upcoming Epic cruise. I told him that our return flight should leave Miami no earlier than 1 pm. He just called to let me know that he booked us a noon flight. How worried should I be about the possibility of missing our flight home?

Just do self disembarkation. No advance plans are required. You take your own luggage off the ship rather than leaving it outside your cabin the night before.

 

As long as the ship arrives in Miami reasonably close to schedule, and CBP doesn't unduly delay clearing the ship for disembarkation, you won't have a problem making your noon flight.

i have made an 11:20 flight from Miami and my sisters made their 10:30 flight! with time to spare

 

we did self debark and were off the ship at 7:30!

Pack and carry your own bags off.

Take a taxi and not group transportation.

 

When you get to the airport, and the line outside to check bags is long, drag your bags inside.

 

Airport is short 15 minute cab ride.

piece of cake. We were almost the last ones off the ship at 10:15am and were still at the airport by 11. If you're heading off in one of the early debarkation times (you choose your own) you won't have an issue. As stated before, just grab one of the plentiful cabs outside the terminal.

Thanks for the information on the disembark and cabs. I was not too excited about dragging baggage and hoped it would be easy enough to choose a early disembark time and hop in a cab in plenty of time to make a 1pm flight.

Thanks everyone. You've convinced me to let my husband live.... this time. It sounds like we should be able to make it to the airport on time barring some unexpected delay.
