oliviaonthe beach Posted October 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2010 My DH is a Telecommunications Instructor at an Advanced Technology institute and would like to meet the person in charge of this on Oasis in November when we cruise. Any ideas as to how he should approach making such a request?
Host Kewlguy Posted October 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2010 Go to the Guest Services Desk and ask. The worst they can say is no.
sf2 Posted October 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Are you talking broadcast tv, IT . . . or ???? There's no position onboard called 'telecommunications'. If you're thinking a 'radio officer' - that would be part of the bridge/marine officers job description.
oliviaonthe beach Posted October 10, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Not the radio person on the bridge, but he teaches aspects of both IT and the television broadcast aspect. What would that person be called?

What would that person be called? Either send an email to RCCL now or ask when onboard.
sf2 Posted October 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2010 That would be two different job positions The broadcast techs take care of the TV satellite, TV programming, taping guests/events/staff for rebroadcast on the RCTV channel and Cruise in Review. They're under the Cruise Director The IT/Systems guys take care of the Internet/intranet, point of sale, and every 'most' every computer/printer on the ship (and all the support calls) - just not the 'specialty' computers like in the theater, marine, etc . . . They're under the Hotel Director. Ask the Cruise Director - he's the boss of the broadcast guys and I'm sure on very good terms with IT (or should be :D)
