BamaCruiser20 Posted October 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2010 We will be sailing on the Elation out of Mobile on Oct 23rd. The Alabama/Tennesee football game is scheduled for 6:00pm on ESPN. I can't remember if we get ESPN on the ship or not. Can anyone let me know if we will be able to watch the game? Thanks! ROLL TIDE!!

Kelane Posted October 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2010 We were on the Conquest out of Galveston in '05 and hubby watched the Alabama/UT game in the sports bar next to the casino. He'd run in with an update from time to time. Perhaps it's changed or perhaps it's depending on the ship you are on. GO VOLS!
papilliontraveler Posted October 11, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2010 There is no way in the world Tennessee is going to win that game. After the thumping Bama just took, I feel sorry for the Vols.

vegasvic88 Posted October 12, 2010 #14 Share Posted October 12, 2010 We were on the Elation when Alabama played Florida. They had it on almost every TV on board. LOL. They even had the sound on. Also, UT played LSU earlier that day and it was on. Most bars had about 3 TVs so if the ship can pick up ESPN you probably won't have a problem watching it. There are TVs on the Lido deck by the pool and they had it on, too. We found most of the passengers on board were from the Southeast. Since the ship is homed in Mobile, Alabama seemed to be the favored team. On both Saturday and Sunday, there were jersey's everwhere!!!

Besides it is going to be ugly, but if you want I have a pair of tickets that I can get you because I am not going. I sold my tickets because I will be on a cruise during the game! Bama fan offered me $200 each, sold them for $120 each to a UT fan! Rather make less money.

bguppies Posted October 12, 2010 #20 Share Posted October 12, 2010 If it is on ESPN you are screwed.... The people chiming in about seeing various college games were obviously catching them on the Denver ABC, NBC, CBS or FOX feeds that the ships get... Needless to say, unless it is a primetime ABC or CBS game, the Denver market could give a crap about watching SEC football. More likely to catch Colorado, Utah or Boise St.... CU is normally on the regional Mountain Fox Sports Net and not on a "real" station since they are a minor league team. Disclaimer: I am not a native Coloradoan and am not a CU fan. cuzzx Posted October 13, 2010 #24 Share Posted October 13, 2010 my family are big Alabama fans. ROLL TIDE. We were told about a outoftheway sports club on the ship that can pull up college games. We talked with the guy behind the bar, and the guy over him. Ask about watching the BAMA game and he said no problem just be there 15 minutes before the game starts. We were there. Then a different guy comes in and our bartender leaves. I run him down and ask about the game. He says to tell the other tender about it. Go back and guess what, he is a big soccer fan so he watches soccer as we all leave.

I was going to make a joke about the fact that most people think of the University of Texas when you say "UT," but then I googled it and found out that the University of Tennessee was established in 1794 and the University of Texas was established in 1876, so I decided not to say anything. :p But I still do think most people think "UT" is the University of Texas.:D I know you won't point out that "UT" is having their worst season in decades.:o
