Ready for our next cruise

As you can see below we cruised the Legend in May and that was our frist cruise. We're going again in March but we have to wait until after the first of the year to find out which one we can take as it depends on child care. One we have picked out is a 5 night on the Fascanation going to Half Moon Cay and Nassau the other is a 7 night on the Liberty going to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, San Juan and St. Thomas. Hopefully these will still have a room for use when we know for sure!

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed that not only get the cruise ports you want but always the cabin you want.

Thanks. We decided to just go for an inside this time as while we really enjoyed having a balchony we were out and about on the ship that we can't justify the extra expense.

If you can swing the extra time away, I would recommend a 7 nt. cruise. There are other cruiselines that go to the Caribbean during May in case you have difficulty finding a cabin, you can always look at other itineraries.

Well we have to go in March. We did western in May and will do it again if needed. The biggest unknown at the moment is do we get 5 or 7 days... and we can get 7 can we maybe get 8? We would both also enjoy the Cozumel / Costa Rica / Panama out of FLL.

Then there is a 7 night out of Baltimore but it goes to Port Canaveral / Nassau and Freeport. But we want to go on one that goes to Half Moon Cay and that seems to be limited to the 7 night on Liberty and the 5 night on Fascination during the time slot (early March) we have available. I would also love to go on the Dream but it's going West the week we can go. I'm sure we'll find something. If I could afford it, I would book both and cancel one or the the other but that's not an option, especially not right before Christmas.

We will stick with Carnival until they give us a reason not to.

Why not reserve now to lock in the price, but be sure to cancel before penalties if you need to?

Well, I can't because final payment date is after we'll find out where we're going.. believe me, the thought crossed my mind :D

Fuzzmane, that's exactly what I have my fingers crossed for.

The Liberty is our favorite Carnival ship, and the itinerary is wonderful. We did the Eastern Caribbean 7 night itinerary and to this day, it was one of our best, most relaxing cruises.

Dont' get me wrong, you'll probably have a great time on the Fascination as well. (we've sailed on her twice, and are booked to sail again in December (Key West/Nassau), mostly because we were looking for an affordable cruise close to home, with ports that are easy to navigate with our infant son who will be sailing on his first cruise! :)),

However, after experiencing the Legend, the Fascination will feel like a step down, specially when you're going from a balcony cabin to an inside cabin.

If you end up choosing the Fascination 5 night, go with realistic expectations. You'll be sailing on a smaller, older ship. Also, inside cabins on this class of ship are smaller than the balcony you had on the Legend.

Finally, Nassau is an OK port, but it's definitely not like visiting Grand Turk, or San Juan...

Oh, I know. We splurged on the balchony on the Legend as it was our honeymoon, this will just be a regular "everyday" vacation. I hate to say it but the biggest advantage to having the balchony was having a play to dry our swim suits. Granted, we did spend a little time out there AND we "joined THE club". The bulk of the time spent there was just me. She tends to go to bed much eariler than I do... even on vacation. I'm not a bar / nightclub / casino type so regardless of ship, we'll have inside but I'll just go sit on the lido or higher and watch the stars.
