OrpingtonT Posted October 25, 2010 #26 Share Posted October 25, 2010 It seems odd that the Voyager is taking 4 days to return to Athens. Perhaps she is going in circles as she was when she left Cannes. Hordorner, please use your super powers to help us locate the Voyager. If we remains invisible much longer, the conspircy theorists will start spinning stories:) Presumably Voyager will have to pick up provisions, re-fuel and even pick up staff. Quite a logistical exercise, maybe needing to call at some ports on the way. Tomorrow we should see her in Athens port.

Apparently she does not need to put her transponder on when she approaches a port as she did when approaching Cannes. Will keep an eye out for her:-)
TedC Posted October 26, 2010 #28 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Isn't Voyager supposed to be in Piraeus today and scheduled to cruise Oct.27? We're booked on Voyager Dec. 10 FLL to FLL and hoping she's back in good mechanical health. Sure wish Regent would ease our trepidation and let us know our cruise is on for sure. We can't get excited about the cruise 'til we know there'll be one. Our Voyager TA Nov. 2011 has already been cancelled - we don't need another disappointment! Travelcat2 Posted October 26, 2010 #29 Share Posted October 26, 2010 For those tracking the Voyager (probably should say "trying" to track it), have you noticed that there is no signal from the Mariner or Navigator either? Perhaps their signal is out of range. . . . or, they would prefer not to have people tracking them:confused: I have no doubt in my mind that the Voyager will sail tomorrow. This is probably a case of "no news is good news". We also were booked on the 11/28/2011 cancelled cruise. Our friends were on the 10/03/2010 non-cruise as well as the the crossing on 11/28. . . . fortunately, they are rolling with the flow pretty well. Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 26, 2010 #30 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Well she must be there. It's dark over there, so webcams won't do any good I think. But Regent would have cancelled the cruise otherwise--everything must be well.
Cruisin' from CA Posted October 26, 2010 #31 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Voyager is in port as scheduled. My parents are sailing on her tomorrow , 10.27, and have already been down to see her in person. They've been in Athens since Saturday, and have met six other couples also sailing. This is their second Voyager trip since Aug 2009, and they're very relieved that all looks good.
Rare WesW Posted October 26, 2010 #32 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Also, just got an email from Wendy/TC's TA office she passed along this delightful Voyager news: Great news from the Voyager. The ship is in Athens awaiting the arrival of her guests who will join tomorrow!
mikeb384 Posted October 26, 2010 #33 Share Posted October 26, 2010 Great news from the Voyager. The ship is in Athens awaiting the arrival of her guests who will join tomorrow! Good news indeed. We've been in Athens since Monday (Oct. 25th) and having a wonderful time. We booked a small boutique hotel in the Plaka area and it's been terrific. We're in what they call an executive apartment, rate is $258 per day, including a great buffet breakfast. And we just walk out our front door to the shops and restaurants in the Plaka, one block to Hadrian's Arch, and a few blocks to the Acropolis. Highly recommended. Another couple on our cruise is staying two blocks away at the Athens Gate, which they like but their room is much smaller than ours. I think their rate is lower also. We will be packing later this morning and heading for the ship about 2PM. Mike Barns

We were on the Oct 3 cancelled cruise and are so envious of those about to embark. At least we are back on board Voyager in February for the New Zealand cruise. Something to look forward to.
