I thought I answered this one, if I forgot to...sorry.

Yes, there's Elemis hair conditioner in the suite.

Yes, I know you answered, I'm just checking to see if anything has changed since the TA. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

David,

Here is the category description from NCL's agent booking pages for the S6 Penthouses on the Epic.

I am glad they changed it for travel agents. Not a huge deal or deal breaker but I will cut and paste the description exactly from my reservation and I sail in December.

David,

I sent my letter to NCL customer service yesterday. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

Changes to Spa Suite Amenity

Dear NCL,

I am writing as a NCL customer, and as a NCL Agent Partner, regarding reports of Epic Spa Suite passengers not being allowed to use the 24-hour access to the Thermal Spa Suites as described in the stateroom description. The current category description for the Epic Spa Suites on the NCL Agent Partner booking pages reads as follows:

The Spa Suites, built for two, are a great way to experience a total spa vacation. These suites feature a queen-size circular bed, spa décor, entry to the Mandara Spa experience and fitness center, as well as complimentary 24-hour access to the Thermal Spa Suites. In addition to the private balcony with incredible views and luxury bathroom featuring a hot tub, you'll also have exclusive access to the Courtyard area, Concierge Lounge and private restaurant and bar. Includes butler and concierge service.

The reservations noted above were booked in large part due to the fact that the Spa Suites were to have 24-access to the Thermal Spa Suites. If not for that amenity we most certainly would have booked other accommodations or possibly even a different cruise entirely.

I find it unconscionable that NCL would continue to advertise this benefit when personal reports from passengers who have recently been in Spa Suites on the Epic are to the contrary. I also find it highly disconcerting that NCL has made no attempt to address this issue with future passengers. I can tell you that my wife and her friend are very upset over this development.

I would hope that NCL will try to make amends for not providing services promised at the time of our booking!?

Thank you,

Gregory Stanley

Some questions:

1. Did you have to wait in line for the shows or did you get special access/seating?

2. Did they provide hair conditioner after all? Anything else you brought that you didn't need to bring because it was provided?

3. Did they provide a ship-use phone?

How was it??

1) Never waited in line [anywhere at any time with or without our butler escort ] -and yes, we DID get special access / seating. In the Epic Theater, there was balcony/orchestra seating available & back 2 rows in the main seating area were roped off for VIP (suites + ) passengers.

- Our Butler tried to escort us everywhere - even when it was totally unnecessary (LOL). On the few times we 'managed' to go it alone...there was never a wait or lack of seating in anything that we did.

2)Yes, there was conditioner! All Elemis products - replaced daily if needed. There was also bar soap in both the shower & sink...and there was also the Elemis shower gel. There is a container with cotton balls & Q-Tips, and there is a decanter of bath salts on the jaccuzzi.

3) Yes, there is a 'cell phone' for you to use all over the ship. Very convenient for your butler to find you, just in case you happened to escape their vision! (to be candid, we found our butler to be a little bit more hands-on than we personally needed...I'm positive that is what some folks pay for, but it was a little bit over the top for us. On our last sea day, we conveniently "FORGOT" to take the phone with us when we left the cabin....oh darn... LOL)

Pamela, thanks for the info!!

Out of curiousity, I went to nclsuitesandvillas.com to see what is being advertised for the spa suite. Here's a direct paste:

SPA SUITES

Private access to Mandara Spa and exclusive access to the Thermal Suites

I wonder what that means....as a dumb customer, I would take it that I have my own entrance into the spa (and I wonder what they mean by the spa, there is the huge public reception area and the treament areas with no option that I could see for private access) and exclusive (vague meaning, I would take it to mean "spa accommodation guests only) access to the Thermal Suites. When I did the TA, access to the Thermal Suites was through the locker rooms, anyone could just walk right in. I'm sure staff checked to see if people in the thermal suites (presumably the area with the thalassotherapy pool & thermal loungers) were wearing their spa pass wristbands, but that's it--nothing "exclusive" about it, anyone with a spa pass had access, and there WAS no private access to anythng!

Are there any interpretations of this verbiage that even remotely cover what NCL is delivering in the spa suites?

LOL we entered thru the locker rooms (after leaving our room key at the desk, and getting a pink(womens locker room door key) or blue(mens locker room door key) on a cord w/ locker key.

We did notice from the hallway, a door with no verbage on it. We opened it and there was a short hallway into the spa reception area. (if looking at the door from spa reception area it says "emergency exit only" - however there was nothing to indicate that it would make any noise - and the several times we used it, no noise!) Off this little hallway, was another door, but it was locked. Since this was located more in the area of treatment rooms, than in the wet spa area, I didn't pay any more attention to it.

There was nothing private or exclusive that we were told about when given our tour.

BUT - we totally LOVED our actual cabin!!!
