coo359a2 Posted October 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2010 Thanks for the offer :)- would like to know what someone living there would recommend to do and see. We will be on the Sun Princess in Feb and should be in Christchurch on Feb 28. Do you know where the Sun P usually docks? Saw where some ships dock at Lyttleton or Akaroa

I'm sure we want to do the punting. Not sure about the Fudge tour - I gain weight just from sniffing chocolates.:p

kloegel Posted October 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 29, 2010 it should be clearly stated lyttelton as Akaroa is to far away to call it a visit to Christchurch. Take the free shuttle from the ship to the visitors center in Lyttelton and than take bus no. 35 or 28 to the square ( city center) one way NZ$ 2.50/pp every 1/2 hour on Sundays. Lots to see on the way to the center and you will even have the chance to hop of at the Cristchurch Gondola. On a clear day, I can recommend it, beautiful views and a cafe on top of the Port Hills. The stop for the gondola is the first after the tunnel. Another thing to do is, take a mini van with 6-8 people and visit the Antartic center its a 40 min drive from Lyttelton harbour. Mini van should be app. NZ$ 60 one way. There should be mini vans oon the pier. Any more questions please ask.
