Walkable from ship?

On Caribbean Princess and wondering if we can walk from the dock into town? Thank you!

Many of the ships dock at Havensight Mall which is a shopping area right there at the pier. There's plenty there to keep you busy. If you want to go downtown from there you will have to take a cab.

However, many Princess ships dock at Crown Bay, not WICO (where Havensight is). At Crown Bay, there are only a few stores and nothing else is within reasonable walking distance. Taxi or shuttle to town.

 

If it does dock at WICO, the gondola ride up to Paradise Point is just outside the entrance gate to Havensight - easy walk, but watch traffic (remember, they drive on the left in St. Thomas; so when crossing the street, look right). Beautiful view of the harbor and cruise ships. I think the fare is $21/person. There's also a show with trained tropical birds at 10:30AM and 1:30PM.

chesie: You CAN walk from Crown Bay (where the CB docks) to town, but it is a bit of work. There is a sidewalk most, if not all, the way. If you want comfort, a taxi is suggested!;)

Maybe if you check on the Princess board you can find out at which pier your ship docks.

Caribbean Princess will dock at Crown Bay unless there is some extraordinary change, like if they were in port the same day as the Oasis.
