is there a show the first night?

I was wondering if there is a show the first night (we are doing the Zuiderdam Panama Sunfarer) and if so what time? I am thinking of posting to try and meet some fellow CCers that night,maybe in a bar somewhere, but obviously we don't want to miss anything! We are as you wish diners, but some of the people may be tied to a dinner sitting.

Uh-oh. Prepare yourself for a tutorial on the definition of "as you wish dining". Pay no attention. We all know you mean "open dining". Some people are fixated on enforcing the fine print of HAL terminology.

Yes there is a show the first night. I believe the exact time varies according to ship. On my long cruise aboard the Amsterdam the shows were at 8 and 10. On my Alaska cruise on the same ship the shows were at 7 and 9. At least that gives you an idea.

Usually, the first night there is only one show; it's at 9:30. It's an introduction to the staff, and perhaps the show cast.

It's always too early for those of us who wish to dine later, so I can never get there.

On all the cruises that we have been on -- there is only 1 show time on the first night -- usually at 9:30.

Trying to have a get together on the first night will really be difficult -- especially if you have various people who have the Open Dining Option which means they could be having dinner anytime between 5:15 and 9 PM.
