This is sort of a good news/bad news entry for me. Good news is I got my Captains Club mag today (usually don't receive it). Bad news is that our sailing on the Summit 11/5 is not included. Harrrummmppphhh. The sailing before and the two after are, but not the sailing Not quite sure why.

 

But then I did get a 125 coupon off on the Millie last year, whereon I booked the Summit and received a $200 cabin credit. Now that is nice

yep...one of my friends on our Roll Call told me that too

And I called the Captain's Club this morning.

She said they changed the coupons in this issue...and they have had numerous calls about it.

I am still going to talk to my TA about it. So, if we cancel and rebook...we can get 125.00 off....hmmmm...

Bummer The Transatlantics are not included. We ALWAYS got coupons off for the transatlantic. But then again, if there was one I couldn't use it since I booked outside of the time frame listed on the coupons. Oh well

I think that the Captain's Club coupons are not as generous as in the past. We got our magazine today. I can't believe that they offer 10 free minutes on internet for the second tier of membership. On Princess, you have FREE internet when you reach Platinum. Really 10 minutes? WOW!

I am still patiently waiting for the newsletter. I just booked on the Summit Oct 15 and am very happy to be able to deduct the 150.00. I think is a good deal. But the winter newsletter also gave us a Cabin credit.

 

But I need the newsletter.

Just called the CC because I just received my first book containing that coupon for $150. I called the 800 number because we booked a 10 night hawaiian cruise on the Infinity for May. I was told that since I had booked the trip back in August 2003, I COULD not use the coupon. They would only accept people who book between April 15 and June 30th. Doesnt seem fair that people who booked and let Celebrity have their money for months do not get the credit, but only those who book at the last minute can quality.

I got a $112.50 credit today using the $125 coupon. I had booked in January...called TA 2 days ago and gave her the coupon code (JAAA). The reason she gave me for the $12.50 difference was that she could only give me one discount. So she repriced the cruise with the original non-discounted amount, then deducted the $125 to give me the best rate. Whatever..I am still happy to save an extra $112.50! More money for those martinis I want to taste in 11 more days!

I tried to use the $150 coupon for our Horizon trip on Nov 29. TA said Celebrity Captain's Club refused to honor it since we had booked well ahead of the April start date listed on the coupon.

 

We looked into rebooking, but found the price had gone up $133, so it wasn't worth the hastle of rebooking for a $12 savings.

 

Clearly the purpose of the coupons is to encourage new bookings, but I am disappointed nonetheless. I'd be happy with a $150 cabin credit.

Captain's Club is a joke. If anything, I was penalized for actually believing this crap about perks. I paid for Oceanview and they upgraded me to a 100% blocked view. Oh yeah, I did get a $2 voucher for the Casino. They won't even show the courtesy of responding to my E-mails. It is inconceivable that I could ever trust these people again.

We booked Transatlantic in December, then flew UAL & got their $200 off coupon. I phoned the number on it & was told it was for a NEW cruise booking (Jan-April). SO I get -0-. Same with the coupons in April's CC magazine, that reads NEW BOOKING ONLY.

just recieved our copy of the captain's club magazine and are very disappointed with the coupons..they only have the 2 and both are for outside cabins...having tried both outside and inside we prefer the inside cabins and as an elite member we think it is a shame that they are only providing coupons for the outside cabins..hope they change this policy to include both cabins as they have done in the past..
