Do Crown balconies have clear glass or solid metal under the railings?

Clear glass. The only balconies with metal balcony railings are the Sun-class ships (not sure about the Ocean/Royal/Pacific) because on those ships, the balconies are cut out of the hull. The balconies furthest aft on the Grand-class ships have a half-glass/half-metal railing. The metal railing part is at the back of the balcony looking aft. I'll post photos later of what I mean.

Just fyi ... The smaller R-class ships have several metal bars that make up the outside balcony wall. I actually prefer these because they don't pick of the sea salt spray that often somewhat clouds the view through the glass walled balconies. Also, the bars make a great place to rest your feet as you sit back to enjoy the sea. But, as said, only the Pacific, Ocean, etc.) have this style of railing.

And the aft balcony cabins on the smaller R-Class ships have a 'solid' steel balcony wall, no railings. ;)
