What is your favorite dinner entree?

Yes - I always err on the side of 'less' done - I noticed my medium usually came out medicum well or even well done!!! So I order one 'degree' less and usually it works out. You can always send it back if it is not to your liking!!

I will join in on the Indian Vegetarian Plate bandwagon. After doing 10+ Carnival cruises in two years time, I had pretty much had everything on the menu. I finally tried it two cruises ago and was blown away. It is easily the best thing on the menu. The dish itself has so many strong flavors to it. It really is an experience. I will always get it now.

Interestingly, I have talked with many fellow cruisers on why we think Carnival has better food then some other lines. My theory is that the chefs are not afraid to use spices. I think other people kind of make the food a bit bland to try and appease everyone. Carnival seems to give some more leeway to the food and strike some bolder flavor profiles. On that note, I find that Carnival really excels on their more exotic international offerings. I will always order the more "ethnic" dishes available as they seem to have the most "punch".

I love the chops! I had them a couple of cruises ago and then again on the Destiny and they are still great!

I also don't care for the Bitter and Blanc. I do love the cheesecake and strawberry sauce!

Lobster and escargot. I always get and FINISH 2 orders or each on the night they are offered. Luckilly they are not usually offered on the same night or I would POP!!! :D

If was not offered on my last cruise. I cruise next month, so I am going to start trying to get up my nerve to try it! I am so nervous. :D

Things you must try:

5) ...and of course warm chocolate melting cake for dessert! (order a fruit plate on the side and you can dip it in the chocolate for your own private chocolate fondue) :D

You can check out some of the menus and food porn here:

I'm just starting reading this thread, and I will go back to read all of it, but I just wanted to say what a great idea! I am looking forward to trying the WCMC, but I am not a huge chocolate fan, and the fondue idea seems like a way to enjoy this Carnival signature dessert while still cutting some of the sweetness and richness of it...thanks!

What is a escargot?

Snails sauteed in garlic butter and covered with parmesian cheese and a few bread crumbs. After cooked these have the consistency of cooked muscles or any other shell fish. Usually served with toasted bread or crusty roll. YUM!! :D

We just got off the Legend last Sunday and we were quite surprised how good the meals were in the MDR. My all time favorite-and to my surprise- was the half roasted chicken. It was a small chicken, just slightly larger than a cornish hen. It was roasted perfectly with the inside very juicy and the skin on the outside seasoned and crispy. It was served with a small serving of mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower. My favorite appetizer was the roasted Egg Plant. There were 4 nice size pieces with served with a drizzle of a red tomato based sauce and a green pesto sauce with a small shaving of parmesian cheese. I also very much enjoyed the fruit and cheese plate which I requested as an appetizer -VS- a dessert. The warm chocolate melting cake was a favorite as far as the dessert selections.

My fiance, Rick, ordered fish most every evening. He loved the Mahi, Salmon and Red Snapper as well as the Lobster. One evening, Elina from our waitstaff, recommended both the fish and the prime rib. She also had no problem bringing him 2 appetizers when he couldn't make up his mind, He stated that he loved the Escargot in the MDR and actually found it better than what he had in the Golden Fleece. He also raved about the caesar salad as he could taste the anchovy in the dressing. He also ordered the friut and cheese plate but for dessert as he does not have much of a sweet tooth.

For breakfast in the buffet, I discovered the homemade banana nut bread. After finding this on the second morning, I basically stuck with this for breakfast. It is located over by the muffins so if you love banana bread try it out as it was really outstanding. I wish they would have offered it on the room service menu as it would have been a nice treat in the evening with a cup of tea. ( I would have loved to wrap a few slices up to take back to the room but didn't)

I recently discovered I have a beef allergy and it has become severe so I had to change my choices this time.

I tried for the first time the Chicken a la Grecque - it was very good. Also, all the chilled soups are good. Haven't had them all. maybe next sailing will get to try the Bing Cherry.

Baked Mushrooms were a bit under par this time as was the pumpkin soup - but a lot of the staff were on the second sailing of a new contract so maybe that's why food was bit off.

Our sailing did not have but I love the escargot. Also love the Capaccino Pie, Key Lime Pie, Tiramisu.

Only things I haven't like was the Jerk Pork and Pork Chops (tough).
