Okay we have booked the Destiny for next October. We are doing both the 5 day and the 4 day directly after, we even have the same cabin. My question is... Do we have to disembark after the 5 day and then get back in line to wait to board at 12 pm with all the new passengers? I hope they let us stay onboard! Thanks, David

Usually on mine we meet in the atrium where they will either issue the new cards there (make sure you bring your credit card with you when you meet of course and all your docs for the next leg) .. or they escort you as a group, thru customs, and then to a desk to get your new card in the port, then hopefully right back in the ship, 10 to 20 minutes depending on how many of you there are. This will be right after all the rest of the pax have debarked the ship, but before the new folks will board. Iv had easily an hour up at the pool by ourselves.

Once the Carnival rep left us hanging in the port and we had trouble getting back on the ship.. someone messed up to me.

We did a B2B2B on the Destiny back in February and I have to say it was one of the best we've done. Just stop by the Customer Service Desk at sometime during the first Cruise and let them know. Also let your cabin stewart know with in the 1st couple of days. (you may want to remind them the last night of the 1st leg) We got the letter the night before (was left during turn down service) telling us where to be and when, a crew member walked us off waited while we cleared customs and took us to get our new cards. Was very fast and easy! We headed up to Lido deck found a good table and relaxed for a while until the next group started coming on. Best part is the crew already knows you and is usually a bit friendlier. Have FUN!

We did the B2B on her as well.. same cabin.. you meet at the pursers desk.. they escort you off to customs.. why I dunno the customs agent said to me why are you giving me the custom card we dont care you aren't coming back physically yet so it was a hello goodbye LOL... only issue we had is that they messed up the SS cards.. we had to wait until noon to get them...otherwise it was fine:)

We just did a B2B on the Spirit. We got our new S&S cards the night before. We had to be in the showroom at 6:45 am with a customs form, and our passports. We talked to the customs people for a couple minutes. We didn't need to get off the ship. The only thing the agent asked was if we were getting off the ship, we said we weren't, he stamp our form and sent us on our way. Back in bed just after 7 am.

I get every instance is different, but we just did a b2b on the Freedom last month, and we were told to meet at 10am in a little meeting room. By 10:30, a lady came and distributed our new Sail and Sign cards, then escorted us down to customs and back on the ship - it was smooth and painless !

WE also got the walk off and walk back on thing. Our cabin steward let us know when our cabin was ready and let us back in. We were also given a bottle of champagne as a thank you. We sat in the cabin during lifeboat drill and drank it lol. Be sure to ask your cabins steward if you have to do it again. He told us nom just be sure to stay in your cabin until it is done. Have fun and be sure to buy alcohol on the first leg to be delivered to your cabin the last night of the first leg so you can drink it in your cabin the second leg.

  • 2 weeks later...

I may not be the OP but the Hubs and I also have a Destiny B2B booked for May. So, I really appreciate all of the imput as I wasn't really sure how it all would work. I'm just glad to hear we won't have to repack only to unpack.

So even if we have the same cabin we won't be able to get back into it until 1:30 p.m.? Doing a B2B on the Glory in Jan.

tigercat

You can. When they escort you back on, walk up thru the middle stairs to get to your deck. The elevators will be turned off for the porters who use keys while they deliver, but you can walk up.

You can go up on Lido and have a drink in solitude too.

Since your stuff is in the cabin already, I think in this case its ok to go into your cabin early ?? What says the rest of CC?? good poll.

I did see a post on here where they did NOT deliver alcohol after the first leg and said it was because they were doing a B2B. It might be safer to wait until the last day of the first leg after 4pm. That way when you buy it in the shops they will just let you take it back to your room.

I always try and do this anyway. I dont trust them to deliver it, mistakes happen (and have to me too on this) .. I make a exception if they are having a closeout or there are only 3 bottles of that tequila brand I wanted left on the shelf and its only the first sea day. Then I chance delivery.

We did a B2B on Destiny last October. You should be able to get back into your room before they're officially ready. The fire doors will be closed, but they're not locked. Just closed to discourage others from going in. Your steward should do your room up first since you're on a B2B. We used the time between the cruises to do laundry. Threw it in the washer before we walked off for customs and put it in the dryer when we got back. Was also a great opportunity to walk around the ship and take pictures and stuff while the ship is empty (although the staff did look at us funny when we were walking along Promenade deck).

We had heard the tip about buying liquor on the first leg to drink on the second, but our room steward kept it until after the 2nd cruise. :( We had enough smuggled booze that it didn't matter, but if you absolutlely need it for the second cruise buy on the last day when they let you just carry it back to your room.

They definately messed up (with us as well....same ship that we talked about)...but "hopefully" it has been corrected.

We have been on several B2B's and thankfully that is the only time it was handled incorrectly.

To the OP: Do remember to eat a good breakfast....once things shut down (I am thinking 9AM on Lido)...they don't open up again until 11:30ish.....
