riffatsea Posted November 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2010 WHAT are you shopping for?? In general get OFF Las Ramblas for buying things as it is tourist central! The big department store, El Corte Ingles is not far from Las Ramblas and the street Passeig de Gracia has designer shops. You can poke around in the small stores in the old part of the city towards the Cathedral or in the Gracia neighborhood on the way to Park Guell. cberge Posted November 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2010 When you are out and about shopping be aware of well dressed men who are very polite, and would like you to see their store which can be very nice...tea..rest for the weary etc.,but thery are there to take you to a leather shop and they can take up a lot of time, and if you are not in the market for leather it really is a waste of time. There are some really nice leahter shops, but if they try to lure you in just say no thank you and move on.Some really good leather is to be found in Cadiz by the way. riffatsea Posted November 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2010 The Boqueria, which is a giant food market, is near the top of Las Ramblas. It is certainly a fun place to poke around.
