Wow!

That's pretty weird!

But if you weren't on board, how did you manage to get into your cabin?

It would seem that if the cabin was classified as "empty", the keycard should have been inoperable.

An interesting (and frightening) example of keeping all the paperwork handy.

The key card worked fine in the cabin and was also working in the bars and restaurants up until supper time on the second day. Then we went poof.

The key card also worked when I was sent up to the cabin to retrieve our paper work to be re-processed.

In a way, that's a good thing.

But still, stranger things have happened on board. :D

Gremlins at work----that was the only glitch in a very enjoyable cruise----and it provided a source of amusement later on, so no harm done. :)

For the first time in ages, we were asked for the boarding pass when we checked in for Eurodam in October. Maybe it is the same cruise referenced above. The computers were flukey that day and our having the boarding pass apparently made it easier for the person who was checking us in as we were the first guests to cross the gangway. :):D

I always bring the first page of the docs, confirmations of pre-paid reservations and the like.
