Anyone with experience using the ATT 3G service in USVI ports? We're bringing an iPad along on our Mercury cruise 29 Nov, mainly for iBooks and movies, but might like to check email in port without paying the ship's wireless fees.

My iPhone 3GS worked fine last year in St. Thomas and St. Croix - no extra charges. So I think you'll be fine with you iPad. And you can always use the ship's WiFi if you get desperate. :(

I used my TMobile data stick in San Juan, St. Croix, St. Kitts, Grenada. The latter two were roaming, but it only cost me $19. (TMobile doesn't seem to have an internation roaming plan...). EM
