OBC for Shore Excursions Only

Interesting new development. SS have just announced new deals on 13 spring voyages where the usual OBC taster has been replaced by $1000 in complimentary Shore Excursions. Perhaps a fight back against Regent, or maybe SS prefers OBC not to be spent in the boutique.

 

If there are some $s left over can they be donated to the closed thread charity.

And, maybe they don't want credits used for Le Champagne. On our cruise there was a $500 OBC and Le Champagne was packed. Regent's decision to include excursion has not been well accepted by some passengers. It has also caused quite a mess with hoards of people trying to get onto each tour. Hope this is not the direction Silversea is going.

The info I received earlier this week from a Silversea rep was that this $1000 could be used for shore excursions and/or on board expenses.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that you will be able to use the OBC for any onboard expense but that SS is marketing it as for excursions to compete with Regent. I could be wrong though.
