What is the one thing that you should have taken on your first cruise??

The hubby and I will be leaving on Sunday for our first cruise on the Valor. I have our bags packed with everything that I think we need, but what is something that you wished you would have taken on your first cruise that you bring now??

I forgot sunsceen. And paid dearly for it when I had to buy some at the dock in Cabo. Otherwise I had everything I needed and several things I didn't.

Sunsreen, and a power strip for all the electronics. Now it's one of the first things packed!!!!

A lanyard for my S&S card. Now its just left in the suitcase for every cruise.Makes it easier to have card handy and not lose it.

An alarm clock and nightlight. Kept the bathroom light on all night with door closed and blinded myself upon entering.

Bottled water ,ships water is expensive and the tap water taste filtered.

Sweater for dining room as i'm always freezing in there. Aloe for sunburns. Flip flops, I no longer wear cute shoes on vacation but shoes that are made for walking.

Glad we don't need those! DH is fixed :-) no little reminders of our cruise 9 months later!! but if it did happen we would be okay with that too :-)

I should have taken more photos on board the ship. That ship has been or is being scrapped over in India somewhere. Sorry I didnt take more photos of that ship. Had I known she was going to be gone so soon, I would have taken a photo of every single thing on board that I could have.

Less clothes! I so over packed for our first cruise. We came home with a suitcase full of clothes we never wore. Now we pack much lighter.

Lady monthly supplies, even if not that time of month (horridly overpriced on the ship)

 

Sunscreen, bring 3 times what you think you need (but since your sailing in winter you wont need as much)

 

Throw in one more Memory card for your camera!! OH and batteries if not rechargeable!

An underwater case for our digital camera! We love being in the water, snorkeling, diving, etc, and you get MUCH better pics with a digital camera in an underwater case than those crappy disposable under water cameras. First cruise or 2 we didn't want to spend $100 to get a good underwater case for the digital camera, so we got the disposables and all our water pics were grainy and the colors don't come out right. Now everyone compliments us on how beautiful our pics look. The case is great for the beach too and the waterslide. No damage to the digital camera at all. :)

A coat. When we left our house it was hot. When we got to Galveston it was about 50 and the wind was howling off the ocean. I couldn't find one my size on the island and when we got to Key West, I bought one. By then I didn't need one.

My camera's SD card. I packed the camera, but left the card at home. So angry at myself...you can't buy them cheap when you're on a cruise.

A Travel Journal and a large envelope to bring/pack the Fun Times. ( I wanted to save them)
