jujucruisegirl Posted December 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2010 Has anyone eaten at Chops on NOS for formal night? If so, do you have to wear formal attire? I read on RCCL website that formal attire is appropriate in the specialty restaurants on formal night. Hubby and I were planning on NOT dressing formal for our upcoming 5 night cruise. We love Chops and plan to eat there one night.
cb at sea Posted December 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2010 Specialty restaurants are "smart casual" EVERY night...even on "formal" nights. If you want to go formal...that's fine, too!

cw2go Posted December 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2010 Yes I have and we did not wear formal attire. This is exactly why we always book specialty restaurants with RCCL. I do suggest nice attire a shirt/tie is common for the guys and for ladies a dress or slacks with sparkly top Enjoy, Patty
Langley Cruisers Posted December 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2010 We ate in Chops on Mariner on the first FN. We dressed up, and so did others. Others did not. One girl had on jeans with a lot of pocket bling (not judging, just telling you what I observed). Seems anything goes.
jujucruisegirl Posted December 19, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted December 19, 2010 Thanks for the feedback. We always dress resort casual when dining at Chops and I am all about the sparkly tops. Hopefully this will help reduce the luggage count. NOT!!!!!:)
DebJ14 Posted December 23, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2010 From the RCI website - jackets even on regular nights: Dress Suggestion We suggest smart casual attire in Portofino - jackets for men, dresses or pantsuits for women. On formal evenings, formal attire is also appropriate in the restaurant. This includes suits and ties or tuxedos for men and cocktail dresses for women

We did not dress formally on either of the formal nights on our cruise this year- we specifically booked a specialty restaurant for both nights.
