Group size for discount?

How does one do a group rate/discount, and what size does a group have to be in order to qualify? Are fares discounted for groups and is there a standard formula? this would be a group of perhaps 15 or 16 total, not huge but also not the one or two cabin thing either.

The last time that I looked, it took 16 people in 8 cabins....get one base fare comped. TAs can select from a menu of other free things, depending on some formula.

normally that is right, 8 cabins. I do want to add, the discount is almost nothing, but there are special perks for those who book 8 cabin or more.

If you have a group large enough to book eight double staterooms the sixteenth bed pays only port and tax. If most of the guests are sailing in interior staterooms the free berth will be an interior, if most are in oceanview then the free berth is an oceanview. With 16 guests minimum points given can be used for OBC or you may prefer to assign them to a party for the group, wine, photos etc. Some very popular sailings may not offer points for groups but the 16th bed will be free IF everyone sails as planned. Should you fall short of the eight doubles you would lose this perk but NCL typically honors the OBC or amenity chosen if points apply. Groups are a lot of work but any good agent will be happy to have your biz and work hard for you. The money is in repeats and referrals!!~~

Thank you! What type of points do you mean? Also does the person who books, and pays for, all the cabins get Latitudes credit for all of them? ie 8 cabins x 2 people = 16 Latitudes trips? (I doubt it, but doesn't hurt to ask!)
