Platinum door decorations

I usually wait till the ships at sail a few hours later.

Being platinum a while now, and learning that people get pissed when you get in the special line .

Just not worth the hassle, tired of hearing all the stiff lips shouting " Hay Axhole the lines starts behind me " .

Makes me think Carnival wants their platinum members to get badgered ,hoping we will just disappear .

Congratulations on getting Platinum. Enjoy! I have been platinum for a few cruises now. I have never had a bad experience. No dirty looks or comments. I don't butt in line. I do use the Platinum line. The perks are nice. Enjoy your cruise and your perks :D

Aren't you a real sweetheart...

Actually..Since I only was Platinum for just one cruise..Yes I did use guest services. I never said anything to anybody and probably never will, even if they "accuse" me for jumping the line. I am very good at ignoring others..After all, the "special line" is there for the Platinum benifit right? Just like priority boarding..When do you draw the line? DOUBLE STANDARD?

Wasnt sure if you were being sarcastic for calling me a "real sweetheart"..

The term that i used "butt in line"?..Means the Platinum line, not the main line..NO I dont butt into the main line.

I always decorate our cabin door with the theme of where we're going, but I'm getting ready for my 1st platinum cruise. And I need ideas of what I can decorate my door with for my 1st platinum cruise. I'm going to use silver as the color since it's the same color as platinum (or close enough).

Right now I'm leaning toward huge silver bows (plentiful now at Christmas time) and stars I can write things on.

Any ideas would be great!!

I was also thinking of making a Platinum corsage to wear on embarkation day with ribbon, etc. I know that sounds crazy, but I've waited a long time to finally make it to platinum and I'm going to celebrate!!!

If you have any pictures of platinum decorated doors or any input would be helpful.

Thanks!

Okay..this doesn't even come close to your entire door decoration (AWESOME!) but I used one of these door hangers for a friends Bday...Maybe a platinum one and/or a Birthday one? I ended up using a magnetic chip clip and put it on the door since it was metal. It made it more visible versus hanging on the door.

I have never thought of decorating the door, but I do like it. I can't tell you how many times, I've almost inserted my key card into the neighbor's door. Our friends are cruising with us and celebrating her 40th birthday . . . . maybe I'll decorate their door too!

Congrats on making it to Platinum . . . . my favorite perk is the FREE wash and fold laundry service. Makes packing light much easier. Plus no dirty laundry to bring home.

We have been platinum for our last 5-6 cruises and never occurred to us to decorate our door this way.

Also do not think I have ever heard of anyone doing this.

Sounds a bit pompous to me. I would never do it.

Ive finally got mine after 12 yrs..I dont make a big deal out of it..The best way to "flaunt" it..Is find a excuse to use the INFO desk and wait till the line is very long then go up there flashing the platinum card..:D

Subtle, but yet satisfying. :D

I'm used to getting comments & looks when I use the handicapped line at the casinos because I don't "look" handicapped and I'm young, but I actually am. I think having to get all of my toes on my right foot amputated due to a blood clot qualifies me for the "special" line. If somebody says something to me I'll tell them where to get off at. :o

Totally different story. You are way more entitled to cut the line than even platinum. Hopefully the clods who give you comments are quickly put in their place when they realize what idiots they are.

I am not platinum and probably never will be. That said, I have no problem with those people who are taking advantage of shorter lines, shorter waits, and other special privileges. You have earned that right.

However, IMHO, doing things like decorating your door, wearing a "I am platinum and therefore I am better than you" t-shirt, or making sure that peons such a me know your exalted status just makes you look like an total idiot.

Are we supposed to bow down as we pass your over decorated door?

DON

I would not be flaunting it either because I do not think that anyone really cares.

Have fun if that is what you want to do.

I'm not platinum, and I don't ever door door decorations, but if I saw someone's door dercorated for the occasion, I would personally consider it as celebrating, not flaunting.

...Goes to show, you can do anything and have a number of people observe it and it will be interpreted in several different ways....

How anyone would think that is flaunting is beyond me.

If someone celebrates a birthday or an anniversary on their door would you feel they were flaunting being married or living longer than you???

...seriously.

I agree 100%. I have never done it yet but never say never....lol

Everyone celebrates in a different way and good for those who come up with original ideas.
