niceneasy Posted December 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2010 I am considering 4557 or 8573. I like the convenience of guest relations desk and theater as well as dining area near 4557 but am not sure what the open area is behind these inside rooms. I also like the lower stateroom for stability. I was told by RCCL that 8573 is more desirable area and that not much more movement will be noticed. I would appreciate any feedback on your experiences in these 2 areas of the ship.
sparky-elpaso Posted December 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2010 We were in 8567 - just 4 cabins down - on our Alaska cruise and didn't have any issues with movement or noise, etc.
niceneasy Posted December 20, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted December 20, 2010 Thanks. That should help me make my decision. Has anyone stayed on deck 4 and what did you think?
cb at sea Posted December 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2010 You should always book a deck closest to where you plan on spending most of your time....if you enjoy the pool, then deck 8 is more convenient than deck 4. If you will spend most of your time in the casino/dining rooms, etc...then deck 4 will suit you better. Anytime you can avoid the elevators in favor of stairs is a huge bonus! Whatever is in the "center hallway" of deck 3 and 4 won't disturb you at all.
JAKcruiser Posted December 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2010 Thanks for this information. I just booked 8571 for an Alaskan cruise on the Radiance. Glad to hear this is a good location. Which are the best viewing decks? Since this cruise is so much about scenery and we're having to go with an inside cabin, we're really interested in the best places for viewing. Appreciate any information!

KeywestK Posted December 24, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Thanks. That should help me make my decision. Has anyone stayed on deck 4 and what did you think? We stayed on Deck 4 on both Jewel and Brilliance (identical to Radiance) and loved the location. Both times, our cabin was right off the Centrum, and we heard absolutely no noise from either the Centrum or the elevators. It was a very convenient location, and I'd do it again without a doubt. ehfl Posted December 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2010 Are you expecting so many problems that you will have to frequent the guest relations desk? We've never had to deal with them, so if you end up there more than once, then you're probably having bigger issues than cabin location. Unless you have mobility issues, the location really shouldn't matter much. It's only about a 2 - 3 minute walk to/from anywhere on the ship....a little more if you need to use the elevators. Yes, they price the upper cabins as more desirable, because people want to be close to the pool and other activities, but I wouldn't really let that be a big issue if you prefer a lower deck. Again, it's just a couple of minutes to get anywhere. So just enjoy your cruise whatever cabin you end up in!
