Hampton Inn Downtown New Orleans - French Quarter Area

Just looking for some feedback from anyone who has stayed at the Hampton Inn in Downtown NOLA, French Quarter area (not the convention center). Got a really good rate here, don't need parking, and want to be near the French Quarter.

 

Also, looks like taxis would be the way to go from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port, right? There will be five of us.

 

Any nearby food & drink suggestions? Nothing fancy or real expensive, something casual, reasonable & yummy?

I just got off a cruise and talked to someone who stayed at one of them in New Orleans and said the breakfast was really good. She was happy with her stay.

 

I did the Holiday Inn Superdome, which is probably a step down from where you are staying .. but the price was right.
