Just what extra perks do you get as a platinum member?

We are on a Princess cruise in Feb but have never been on board as Platinum since we often go on P&O so have no idea

As a platinum member, you get priority boarding, the platinum disembarkation lounge, and a complimentary internet package of 150 minutes. The priority boarding can be nice when there are crowds and long lines during embarkation. Internet package is useful. You basically sign up for the $75 package and you get a credit for it on your bill. All the captains circle members are invited to the captain's circle party which is a reception in one of the lounges on formal night. There are some free (weak) drinks, appetizers, etc.

The size of the internet credit depends on the length of the cruise.

Regarding the Captain's Circle party, we always just ask for what specific drinks we want. We just got off the Crown and were able to order and receive glasses of champagne and wine. The appetizers were actually fairly good.
