not sure how the time works!!

our ship.. The Dream arrives at St Thomas at 10.00 am . I would like to arrange a tour, but it seems that most leave at 9.00-9.30 am. I am confused because I have heard mention of Ship Time/ Island Time....can someone explain the difference please ....This is our first cruise.

It seems odd to me too that Carnival would have excursions an hour before the ship arrives. These are Carnival excursion times?

 

Iv gained or lost an hour at times, other times, the ship time stayed as our time no matter where we went.

If you are doing a private tour ask the tour company how the local time compares to EST.

aT the present time St thomas is 1 hour ahead of EST.

 

See if the dream changes time on the ship for the past few sailings.

 

I have yet to sail on Carnival when the time has been changed on the ship.

 

according to the itinerary you are arriving in St Thomas at 10am which will be 11am island time. When looking at a private vendor you need to make sure are they giving you island time or ship time

deff check the time changes with private vendors. Where ever the ship leaves from (EST) will be the time for the entire cruise. doesn't matter if you go 3 hours behind EST it will still stay the same time as the port you left from. Call Carnival to see. Im sure it will be 10am cruise time when its 11am island time.

We booked a private scuba trip and are meeting our scuba people at 8:30 St Thomas time at the dock on 1/4/11.

 

WE need to be there by 7:30 ship time, correct?

 

I don't know why this seems so confusing but it is. Thank s for the help Dori
