Can you just pay a deposit to hold your room?

When I book other cruiselines, it gives me an option to pay a deposit instead of having to put down the amount for then entire cruise right up front. When I go to the Carnival website, it doesn't give me this option. Is there any way to do that, or am I just out of luck? I found a cruise on the Carnival Dream for 7 nights to my favorite ports in the Eastern Caribbean that would only cost $1300 for 3 of us (porthole room). I would have enough for a deposit right now. But, it being right after christmas I can't afford the whole thing for a couple of months. I would hate to miss out on such great pricing!! Can anyone help?

For what date? If you are outside of the time limit for final payment, you should have no problem holding the room with a deposit.

Just call the CCL 800 number and book over the phone. Yes, you can put down a deposit. Depending on the length of cruise for the deposit amount. Depending on if early saver is used then there may be restrictions on deposit refunds.

That is a really cheap price for the Dream. I bet you are within 3 months of cruising. Usually they only require a $250.00pp deposit unless you are within a certain window. Then you would be required full payment.

We need more info as to why that is happening. You should most certainly only have to put down deposit if you are outside of final payment, however, what you are describing sounds like you are within penalty phase. When does this cruise leave?

I dont see any rates for $1300 close end, not until sept thru nov, and the cheapest I see is $439. true 3rd pax rate is cheaper, but thats close to the price you are mentioning.
