NANCYR2 Posted January 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2011 Our cruise departs on Feb 2nd, and we are looking to spend 3 night prior to the cruise in the LA area. Would it be better to find a place in Long Beach or Santa Monica or Hollywood area? We will have a car, as we are traveling from San Diego. Thanks
Splinter Posted January 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2011 Which Los Angeles area port are you cruising out of....San Pedro or Long Beach? What do you plan to see while you are in the LA area? This will make a difference as far as location to stay.
NANCYR2 Posted January 2, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 2, 2011 We are sailing out of San Pedro cruise port. We do not want to stay in San Pedro. We would like to do Universal and Hollywood. We have not made another plans. We will be dropping the car at Long Beach Airport and then take a shuttle to San Pedro. Any suggestions will be appreciated. CruiserBruce Posted January 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2011 The closest Embassy Suites is 6 miles away in Glendale, but there is a pretty nice Hilton directly across the street from Universal Studios.
Jen1000 Posted January 2, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2011 You don't give a budget so I will give you 3. The Sportsmen's Lodge has been recommended on CC many times. http://www.sportsmenslodge.com/ In that area my Dad stays at the hollywoodholidayinnexpress.com when he attends events in that area. He has stayed there many times and likes it. At Hollywood and Highland is the Renaissance Hotel. I have not stayed there but I am sure it is nice and the location is great. http://www.renaissancehollywood.com/ That gives you a start. Jen in SoCal Can you recommend one in the LA area that would bein an area to taken Hollywood / Universal area?
