What do you think was the biggest Royal Caribbean story of 2010?

Well, here's a little project I've been working on all day. Hopefully I haven't missed anything major. I've been skimming thread titles from the past year in order of replies from highest to lowest until I reached the point where the threads were only getting 100 replies. I jotted down what I thought the Major newsworthy stories were and put them in this nice little poll!

 

And just a note: Some of what I've listed didn't happen last year and won't happen until this year, but I put them in anyway since they were announced last year.

Allure of the Seas may have led in the press release category, but in terms of discussion space on the CC boards, I would have to go with the Crown & Anchor changes.

 

RCI had an interesting year and I think the company's return to profitability could be another strong contender as top story, given the attention on the economy in 2010.

Cool poll. I'd say c&a changes are always big around here but in terms of the general public hearing about something, it had to be the Brilliance list; even my husband mentioned it.

I voted the Brilliance list because my friend Carol was on the ship when it happened. I've not been paying a whole lot of attention to RCI this year :o

There's usually always something that surprizes me in the polls I make. In this case, it would be the fact that the Crown & Anchor Society Changes is in second place! :eek: I guess it's more of an issue than I thought it was!

I actually don't know much about the C&A changes. I got confuesed from reading those threads and didn't understand everything. I actually don't know about when or if the changes happened, so if they're supposed to happen this year, sorry! :o I guess we could treat it as an announcement from 2010.

 

I just know it was a pretty hot topic last year, and that there were several threads from the middle of last year saying that there were going to be major changes, so I included it in the poll.

There were some changes that took place in June, 2010, mostly the restoration of some perks in the coupon books for Crown & Anchor members (especially for Diamond and Diamond Plus members: free or reduced price laundry, free internet minutes, free photo coupon etc.).

I am so happy we are getting Mariner.

I mean any Royal ship in Galveston is great.

Wish we could get one with a flow rider on it :D.

But am thrilled with Mariner.

Brilliance's list is now tied with the C&A changes for 2nd place! Not surprisingly, Allure's debut is still in the lead, and her lead has grown larger.

Brilliance's list has now passed the C&A changes for 2nd! Now the poll is starting to become what I've somewhat expected, although I'm a little surprised that Allure's debut is only in the lead by two votes.

I'm still feeling the effects of that list! I have whiplash and a severely pinched neck nerve. I've been to the chiropractor 3 times, and it has helped, but I am very weak on my right side. Off to physio tomorrow! Being a fitness freak is making this hard to take - I can't do my normal routine (which is P90X type workouts - hardcore). I'm a mess! :(
