Cruise the same ship?

When they leave from NY it's only a subway ride to the port. So far it's been the Miracle 2Xs, Triumph 1X and hope to do the Glory. It's great. I would love to leave out of Florida but the airfares are just too much especially if you cruise solo. Mary49

I live in Florida so we have alot of choices . I really want to do the miracle when it comes back in the fall

I haven't cruised on the same ship more than once, but I am sailing on Sensation's exact sister ship. I go with the saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I might cruise Fantasy class till they are sold - then I'll move to other classes.

I also cruise to cruise. The only time I change ships is when carnival swaps them. My firsts two cruises were on the Fantasy out of New Orleans.

my first cruise was on the fantasy when it was at port canaveral before it was refurbished , good memories

I am doing the Splendor for the 2nd time in a row, mostly out of convenience, plus I know what to expect on board, and was very happy about the cruise I had before with them. Only wish I could get the same room steward and servers at dinner, then I would be set. But I am sure they have taken time off many times and been assigned to many other ships since I cruised last time.

we have only done 1 repeat cruise which was RC's navigator.....we are doing a repeat of the valor in april. I was a bit disappointed when we returned home, and we realized we didn't really take any pictures.....we had taken them all the first time. The second one from an album point of view seemed unimportant. I am hoping that when I walk on the Valor I will be just as thrilled.

  • 5 weeks later...
My first cruise in Sept '10 was the Pride, my next cruise is on the Pride in May '11 and my next is the Pride again in Sept '11. No airfare, no hotels, no rental cars, it's 7 days, I absolutely loved the staff....I live one hour from the port. And on top of that....the ship is my vacation. So yeah....I plan on cruising her alot...lol

Hey how you doing? Looks like Bob and I will be joining you this year for the Sept 4th cruise. Sending you my email. mwyk1@aol.com. I never did get my computer to work again after this past cruise. Hope your holidays were great!

My husband and I will be taking our 3rd cruise on the Pride. We love it. We love driving 25 min. to the port. No Planes, trains and autos to get there. We still have a lot of things at each port we'd like to do. We have friends who go to the ocean each year, or the mountains or one of the other beaches along the coast. They stay at the same hotel, eat at the same restaurants. I don't see much difference in taking the same cruise.

I get to meet great new people each year and may see some I've already met. Right Cool Waters, lol

What about you? How do you feel about cruising on a ship you have already been on?

I enjoy it. The people change on every cruise. A lot of different crew and some casino staff. I like the familiarity of knowing my way around the ship. I just wish they would swap the ships for different routes more often. I'd like to take Imagination to a couple of different ports.

For me it would depend on the itineray. If it has a lot of ports then the ship is not that important but if it has a lot of sea days then the ship matters. The only ship we have done more than once is the NCL Gem because its close and we love the boat. We are sticking with the same class(spirit) for our Carnival cruise in July. Loved the Legend, so we are doing the Miracle.

We did the Fantasy 3 times in 2009. If I lived closer to a port I'd be cruising 5 or six times a year on the same ship (depending on how close I was). Even when we lived about 5 hours from Port Canaveral, we did 4-5 a year, simply because getting to the port was so easy. If I lived within an hour of one...man, that would be AWESOME! Heck yeah I'd do the same ship over and over. No problem. The ship nor the ports are really relevant to me, I just like being on the water :) The ship and ports are merely a monkey wrench in my otherwise peaceful, quiet R&R while out to sea.

Kinda hard for us NOT to cruise the same ship twice (or more) since we have sailed on EVERY Carnival ship....:D

Now that we have completed the fleet....our cruise selection is based on things other than the ship....

mostly does it fit into the scheduled times that we like to cruise.....

we don't really care where it goes any more....

No problem here with the same ship , I live 30 mins from the port so I will be on the Sensation for the 3rd and 4th time in a few days . I am planning on the Dream for the second time in Sept , and we have done the Liberty twice , Athough I do want to sail the Freedom this year , Lord Willing .

We'll be on the Spirit for the fourth time this summer. We sailed her to Alaska (northbound) during her inaugural season in 2001 and then the next year on the southern Caribbean route. Then again in 2007 on a southbound Alaska route and this year it's a round trip out of Seattle. Love the ship and love Alaska. :D I've looked at other lines for Alaska and almost chose a different one for our upcoming Alaska cruise because the Spirit's now doing round trips instead of north or south. But, the naturalist on the Spirit is one of the reasons we come back. She's great!

We've also done the Mexican Riviera twice, but two different ships: Pride and Splendor.

Obviously, we don't have a problem doing the same ship and same itinerary. :D Can't wait to be back on the Spirit!
