Rare Lois R Posted January 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2011 Hi,:) I have sailed for the Playoffs over the past few years and they have one of the lounges set up for the games (along with the tvs in the Casino and your stateroom tv). I will be sailing SUMMIT for the Superbowl too:D and from talking to friends who have sailed on gameday before, they usually have a spread set up in one of the lounges or possibly a big screen in the main theater too. floridatravelersforlife Posted January 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2011 How about room service and a bottle in the room while watching the Superbowl. Sounds pretty nice to me. Plus you dont have to cook!
Emerson's girl Posted January 12, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We have been on NCL during play offs and yes, they had a sports bar we watched a game in. The most fun Super Bowl party ever for us was on the Sun Princess. They had a large lounge (packed by the way) and had lots of yummy snacks. It was interesting too because the video of the game didn't exactly match the audio. Due to the availability of signals the ship could receive in our location, they did this to have the audio in English. It just made it that much more fun! Hope Celebrity makes your Superbowl fun too. Enjoy, no matter who's playing!:D
phoenix_dream Posted January 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We have sailed on Superbowl Sunday and they always had a screening set up somewhere with snacks. Unfortunately it was also always in the middle of our dinner, but at least it was available.
Boiler Fan Posted January 12, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We were on the Millenium that sailed on Super Bowl Sunday in 2008. As we got on the ship we could choose a glass of sparkling wine tinted either blue for the Patriots or pink for the Giants (or visa versa - their colors are similar, I don't remember which was which) to help set the mood for the Super Bowl party which was held later in the Celebrity Theatre. They showed the game on a giant screen. There was lots of great food and even an ice sculpture of the game trophy. We love football and had such a great time that we booked an Eclipse cruise for the Super Bowl this year. Unfortunately the Eclipse sails on Sat., and Sunday is the first formal night. So we have to decide between the formal dinner and the Super Bowl. Haven't made up our minds yet. It will be terrific either way!

No brainer for me about it:D. I am a BIG football fan and knew when I booked formal night was falling the same night as the game. The game is definitely higher on my list:D and there is always another formal night;) I usually sail in January but this year I am going in February and can't wait:)
Christine Frances Posted January 12, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We sail on Friday the 4th on the Millie - hopefully formal night will be on the Saturday:D
LilRhody Posted January 13, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 13, 2011 We sail on Friday the 4th on the Millie - hopefully formal night will be on the Saturday:D If the past schedule holds, Sunday will be formal night - which is highly disappointing since I fully expect my beloved Pats to be playing in the Superbowl! Cruzin Cat Posted January 14, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2011 We sailed during the Superbowl three years ago and they showed the game on the huge outdoor screen. It felt as if we were at the game, partying with a couple hundred of our closest friends! It was a fantastic time. We always host a SuperBowl party at home (when we are there) so I can't imagine sitting in our cabin watching it alone. And who cares about formal night - especially if the Steelers are playing!!! :)
