Cruise Ship Terminal in Belize

This is the only info I have ever seen really beside word of mouth.

who knows when it was updated

Ships have to anchor probably 5-6 miles out. It will have to be one hell of a pier....
Click on nobody000's link and you'll see what was proposed several years ago. Major dredging was involved to create a channel and turn around for the ships.

We've been there at least once a year for several years and haven't seen any signs of progress.

This project's sponsors got caught up in the whirlwind of political corruption/backlashing that often occurs in Central American countries. Unless the powers that be have a change of heart/mind/direction/bodies, it's most likely going to be on the shelf for many many years.

Maybe my grandchildren will get to use the pier when they take their grandchildren on a cruise:p

I would put $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that a pier will never happen in Belize City.. Placincia will be a port, probably with a pier.

Placencia would be a great cruise port...lots of beaches, near reefs and ruins, closer to Roatan (ships can head toward Punta Gorda and come up from the south without too much shallow reef hinderance). And the Barefoot Bar.:)
