Plastic bag ban starts today on Kauai and Maui

Not super important info for most cruisers, but thought I would share that today is the start of our plastic bag ban only on Kauai and Maui. So places like Walmart, grocery stores, food places, etc. no longer have plastic bags. Even places like Taco Bell have had to change their bags. I have heard that some places will have paper bags ( strict rules for these as well), but at least for the big places you need to bring re-usable bags or purchase at the checkstand if you need them.

Thanks for the info! I think it's a great idea, was in the Outer Banks this past fall and they all used paper bags.

Thanks- we appreciate the heads up. Will be on Maui is about 3 weeks (not on a cruise). I immediately put two reusable bags in our packing pile.
