I collect charms for my charm bracelet that represent where I have been. The hubby collects shot glasses.

I do have a friend who is a flight attendant. He told his mom many years ago about a coffee shop that was very popular with his friends. He told her to buy stock in this new company. She didn't, she thought a coffee shop would never make it. So now he buys her a coffee mug from this shop from everywhere he goes-the shop is Starbucks.:)

Does anyone else collect random or fun items from all their travels? I collect shot glasses from every place I travel. I intend to have a bar in my hosue someday with a glass showcase in the front with all my shot glasses.

I also save the daily compasses, seapass, excursion tickets, etc for my scrapbook!

I collect sand from the beaches, do a king of the world picture on each ship, preferably at the bow and I try to find the tackiest souvenir possible from each port :) :D

Not to sound weird, but we collect rocks. Smooth ones to remind us of the beaches and destinations we've been to. I actually have a pretty bright white one with no other colors from CocoCay. It sits above my computer so I can sit and look at it whenever I feel the need to reflect back on our adventures. Pretty random. We also get the occasional shell.

I collect magnets. We have done this for years. I need a new fridge to hold my magnets. In the last few years, I have started collecting coffee mugs. I love drinking from these and remembering where I got them

I try to find a hand made coffee mug...I like to wake up to a cup of coffee in a Belize mug rather than a hospital or radio station logo.

Me too! I take all of mine to work; they're on the shelf right over my monitor, and I use one every day. I get a lot of positive comments on them - and a good chuckle when I explain that I get them to remind me of why I put up with my job... without it, I couldn't go on cool trips!

I like to have anklets made at Inch of Gold on the ships. I don't always remember which anklet came from which ship, but each one reminds me of cruising and makes me happy :)

We received nice beach towels on the Allure on the maiden voyage, then a few weeks later received two more very, very nice towels as a promotion from the casino at Atlantis. I won't go out of my way to look for them, but will not be opposed to buying towels on future cruises. They are used only for pleasant times at the pool and beach, so the good feelings they invoke just reinforce our pleasure in cruising.

I take a pic of a car tag in whatever state/island I'm in. FREE. A guy once came rushing out of a souvenier shop asking why I wsa photographing his car but he ended up laughing it off.

I also get a few postcards and a keychain CHEAP

Who really needs a 3 for $10 tee shirt to advertise to everybody back home you've been to yada yada yada...

And even worse, why would someone who didn't get to go on the fantstic trip with you want a shirt from yada yada yada as a souveneir.

I stop by the local liquor store (at home) and get a few of those airplane bottles of rum and pass them out at the office as gifts. Everyone loves them, It's something they actually use, and they are only a dollar or so.

I tell them I got it on the trip.

And, they are none the wiser that I didn't have to lug them in my luggage to bring them home LOL... :p

Blue Keychains.

When I was 17 I got my driver's license and several people gave me a new keychain to celebrate. My high school colors were blue and white and I got 5 blue keychains and 1 yellow one as little 'congratulation' gifts. Well I thought the yellow one looked out of place, so I took it off the key ring. People started asking me why I only had blue keychains and started buying me more, so it became a collection by default I guess. As a teenager I would buy one anytime I saw one I liked whether it had significance or not. As I got older I decided to just get them from places I had traveled to or visited. Six years ago my DH and I bought our first house and moved from our apartment. Sometime after the move I realized I had no idea where my keychains were. I searched in every inch of every box and nook and cranny I could think of, but they never did materialize. My Mom always thought my DH must have accidently thrown them out when we moved or when we were unpacking. He always maintained his innocence though. Well about 3 months ago I had to get something out of a big storage bin that only contained a specific thing. I dug down to the bottom to get the thing I was looking for and lo and behold there was my keychain collection in an old grocery bag! All 200+ of them. My husband was so happy I had found them- it meant he was finally off the hook six years later! It was really fun looking through them with my kids and telling about the different places I'd been and how I'd come to get this one or that one. Oddly enough when I reached into the bag the first one I grabbed was my Royal Caribbean keychain from our first and only cruise in 2001. I'll happily be adding another one to the bag in a few months!

Sorry for rambling- I guess I took a detour down memory lane and got lost! :p

After dinner in the MDR the bar servers come around with these little shots of something to sip on or pour in your coffee. I've kept at least a few of the little glasses. I also keep our sea pass cards and all the Crown and Anchor logo medals we've won over the years for various reasons. I love the Christmas ornament idea.

License plates, hang them on the wall in the pole barn. One section is devoted to Caribbean Islands, another from almost all of the Canadian provinces.:) Sometimes they're hard to find, will admit I've had to "cheat" a few times and buy them off ebay:D

I do the same thing, except I have them on the fence in the backyard!

I have a "Travel Tree" at Christmas separate from my other trees that feature all the ornaments we have collected traveling over the years.

I do the same thing.

Every cruise I get a Christmas ornament, magnet and postcards from the ship and each port. I also collect the ship models. I keep all the Compasses, SeaPass, luggage tags, invites to M&Ms, dinner & excursion confirmations, etc. to put in my scrapbooks. I buy nearly all the photos they take (my bar bill is tiny compared to my photography bill ;):D) for my scrapbooks. And I try to find souvenirs that are unique to the port. So far my two favorites are the whale's tail ring I bought in Ketchikan and a watercolor of Stockholm which I had matted and framed once I got home.

I collect the small models of the ships, the ones sold as Christmas ornaments and keep them in my china closet. I call this my own little fleet. So far there is only one boat that I'm missing and that's from the Princess line. They said they didn't have any

I also keep all my sea pass cards.
