NY spending by cruise passengers and members increased to $144.6 million last year

That seems really low to me considering the NYC Marathon brings in $250 million in just one weekend not including the $30 million it raises for charity.

Is cruising that small of an industry, are the cruisers that cheap, or are the cruisers mainly from the tri state area?
